Fakir Musafar’s 1 1/4” stretched nipples.
Fakir (Roland Loomis) is considered the father of the modern body art. Fakir started piercing himself as a youngster back in 1948 and donned stretched nipples in the early 1950’s.
A lot of people say that without Fakir, body piercing may never have been as widely accepted as it is now. He was definitely one of the first, if not THE first to ever get a non-ear piercing in America and certainly the first (in America) to delve into more extreme modifications like suspension, scarification, piercing stretching and rituals like Oh Kee Pa.
Fakir is probably one of the more interviews personalities when it comes to body art and has taken part of many shows on Discovery, TLC, National Geographic and other documentaries on body art. Fakir coined the term “Modern Primitives”.
